![]() ![]() We were happy to see lots of staff cleaning surfaces throughout the property and always wearing masks. We were also able to get into our room 3 hours before check in which was a nice surprise! The staff at check in were super friendly and explained the procedures in place for Covid-19 protection. When we arrived and checked in immediately we both were loving the decor and design of the lobby, felt very retro but modern. My fiancé and I stayed in room 411, a cathedral king room for 2 nights at the end of June 2020 for a quick birthday getaway. Cannot wait to return to Santa Cruz and will definitely be staying at the Dream Inn!… The pool was heated which was a nice touch! We lounged around the pool for hours as well. Having the ability to order food and drinks is so convenient. Although we didn’t venture down to the boardwalk too far, we did eat near there and it was only about a 5 minute walk. the wharf with food and shopping are a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. You are literally on the beach where you can swim, surf, play volleyball, etc. Bed was comfy as well! Location - perfect location for just about everything. Hearing the waves all night was so relaxing. We sat on the balcony for hours watching the surfers and the people. Room - clean, spacious, absolutely great view of the beach, wharf, and boardwalk. We could see staff were busy trying to accommodate guests and knew the cleaning staff were doing the same. This was such a small inconvenience though and we forgot all about it once we got to our rooms and seen the view. Staff were super accommodating and were able to give us a key to the pool area so we didn’t have to wait in the car. We ended up arriving to the hotel early and were hoping to get into the rooms as soon as possible after a long drive. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was that our rooms were not ready until 4:15. All of the staff were so friendly and professional (even when there was an unnecessarily rude guest at the front desk-they handled it so well). We were very pleased with our stay and hope to come back someday. Stayed here for the last couple nights of our family vacation based on Trip Advisor reviews. ![]() Overall the four star rating is warranted and we will come back. The kiosk staff in the morning for takeaway breakfast goods were two cheeky twenty something guys that seemed more interested being curt to the customers than welcoming and helpful, but the breakfast burritos and muffins were delicious. Overall, we had a banquet room party for 48 people the first night and the staff, food and bartenders were a spectacular “five” stars. 15 minutes into that wait the hotel restaurant called to tell us our table was available which we declined. We went to a restaurant next door and had a 30 minute wait. Given the “loop” with no results we walked over to the restaurant and were told we could be put on a waiting list for that night but most likely we would have a two hour wait. Going online it said they were unable to reserve for parties greater than five. We tried to get reservations for six at the restaurant that sports a very nice menu but when we called it’s extension the message said we needed to reserve online for parties of six or more. They also gave us the option to be located in a room far from the noisy elevator which we were thankful for. Front desk registration was quick and access to our room wasn’t final inspected so they had that completed in five minutes. The valet’s move quickly and as my wife was using a walker due to a recent surgery so they brought a cart to unload our luggage and immediately valeted our car.
